New Addition

So just when I thought we had nothing to blog about this week.... we get a puppy! Let me start this story by saying that for about the first year and a half of our marriage, Adam vowed to never get a dog because he hated cleaning up after them as a kid. I don't know what changed in him, but for the last few months he has been wanting a dog. Lately we have looked at a few dogs, trying to figure out what type we like and this past Saturday as we were going to Walmart to pick up a few things, a man was selling his border collie/lab mix puppies. Of course I knew that once we stopped and were playing with the puppies for a half an hour, it was all over. We fell in love with a little black and white puppy and took him home with us.

This little surprise made for a crazy day of getting all the needed supplies for a dog. Luckily we have great neighbors and friends that have helped us out. We have had two crates (one big and one small) lent to us from the Money's and Jake and Julie and the Lucky's helped us go shopping. Once we got home, we started working on a name. We sat outside on the porch for about an hour with the Lucky's making a list of names and finally narrowing it down to Guy (Adam's favorite name).



Later that night, we were hanging out with our neighbors and brought our new little puppy along for everyone to meet him. Within about 10 minutes, while Mackenzie was holding the pup she says, "Did you know that his is a GIRL." Oh my goodness, we were shocked and so embarrassed. Our little Guy was actually a girl and we had no idea (shows how much we know about dogs)... So now we have a little girl puppy with no name yet, who we are hoping doesn't have a complex from being called Guy for a whole day.


This will be a new adventure for us and I am still a bit nervous about it, but she is so dang cute and we are having tons of fun with her.
